street hoardings:


it is very rare to see an advertisement hoarding on the streets except the hoardings on the telephone booths installed on the footpaths. i have taken a photograph of an advertisement hoarding.

Very true, UK or for that matter all the western European countries are very tightly regulated by town planners, they monitor all the changes in the town very closely, their main work is to ensure the character of the town remains intact over the period of time.

Town planners have their say even when you are going to make alternation in your property though no way it's affecting anybody. One more thing you can not erect any structure without planning permission, if you want to then you have to apply to the council with maps and planners. Council will notify all your neighbors to look at those plans and raise any concern, if your neighbors can prove that their view/sunlight/air/peace will be disturb then you can not go ahead with those plans.
